2026-04-30 Temporary Trade Agreement between the European Union and MERCOSUR

A temporary trade agreement between the European Union and MERCOSUR will come into effect on May 1, 2026. This agreement involves Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, and outlines the rules for preferential tariff treatment based on origin declarations.

The agreement will be applied temporarily starting May 1, 2026.
Origin declarations must be provided by exporters for tariff preferences.
EU exporters will use a specific format for origin declarations as per Annex 3-C of the agreement.
Registered exporters do not need to re-register in the REX system.
The legal basis includes the temporary trade agreement published in the Official Journal on February 27, 2026.
